I am glad that I went
Last Sunday I was planning to have a lazy day, sit in front of
TV, eat popcorn and not do anything, but because Candid Arts sent me a reminder about their exhibition, I changed my mind and instead of a lazy Sunday I had arty Sunday. I visited this contemporary exhibition in Candid Arts
for established artists and illustrators and I was glad that I went. The
exhibitors presented an interesting mixture of photography, illustrations and printed t-shirts and bags. Kit Boyd, Nicola Patten, Katie Leamon or EL Biekoh
are artists whose work stood out for me and who kindly give me permission to
take pictures for my blog.

Stuart Whitton
Good news …..I got permission from talented Welsh
illustrator Stuart Whitton to use his pictures in my blog. It is almost
unbelievable that in today’s mechanised world where craftsmanship is replaced by
computers an artist still using good old pencils and paper is creating such images with amazing detail. I am sure that Stuart
Whitton is one of few artists who has on his CV skills such as ability to draw
and sketch rather than a capability to use Photoshop or other computer
programs.
His portraits are realistic, almost
3 dimensional. Stuart Whitton is proving that his work is truly the work of a craftsman. He portrays everyday people with ordinary expressions.
Drawing fabric is difficult but not for Stuart
Whitton who takes this challenge and without any problems transfers it to paper.

Work in progress….
I have started to sketch a couple of pictures but for some reason I can not finish them, or I am simply busy or I have other projects on such as cover for Morpheus Tales….. So my incomplete pics are buried deep in one of the files on my computer and for unknown reasons. I have a dilemma: are they are worth finishing or not….
